A UML cadre was arrested for waving black flag at Prime Minister and UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal during a public function in Sunsari Saturday
Sarada Niraula, a member of UML's local committee and the leader of Telecom Employees' Association of Nepal was taken under control by security personnel as soon as he showed the black flag to Prime Minister Khanal who had just taken his seat in the podium.
UML cadres also manhandled him as the police whisked him away.
Khanal also faced flack flags from protesting cadres of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) when he arrived in Inaruwa by a helicopter.
He was there to attend a “public awareness programme” on new constitution organised by the UML.
UML general secretary Ishwor Pokhare was also present in the programme.
Nearly four months ago, one Devi Prasad Regmi had slapped Khanal during a public function in the same district. After getting elected as Prime Minister few weeks after the incident, Khanal once jokingly mentioned that the slap proved lucky for him.
