National Medical College Teaching Hospital in Birgunj has remained closed since Tuesday over a row between the kin of patients and the hospital employees.
The row started when kin of a patient, who died Tuesday evening, vandalised the hospital and assaulted the hospital staff accusing them of carelessness in treatment.
The hospital employees closed down all services including emergency services in protest of the attack. They have demanded assurance of security from the administration and action against the assailants.
The hospital staff are providing treatment for inpatients who were already admitted to the hospital, but have not taken any new patients including the emergency cases for check up.
