Hubby confesses to killing Menuka

Mystery sorrounding the gruesome murder of Menuka Khatri was unravelled on Saturday with the arrest of her husband, Nepal Army (NA) soldier Bharat Khatri and his colleague.
Menuka, a mother of six-year-old son, was beheaded in a forested area of Balaju area on Wednesday morning.
In a turn of events, the arrested husband, a soldier at Singh Durbar-based NA Cavalry, confessed to having killed his wife Menuka with the help of his colleague in his bid to sort out his long strained differences with her.
Police siad Menuka's husband weaved the cruel plan and hired his friend Sangharsha Gaule Khatri for Rs. 19,500 to execute the assasination bid. Investigators pointed out that Bharat and his colleague Sangharsha took Menuka to a forested area from her Balaju-based rented accommodation before killing her in a gruesome manner.
Lurking in Balaju area, it was Bharat who had telephoned Menuka, asked her to leave behind his six year son and follow his colleague Sangharsha, a native of Panchthar, on the pretext of giving her some parcels.
"As they reached the isolated area, Sangharsha hammered on Menuka's head making her collapse," an investigating official said. "And then it was Bharat who caught her legs as Sangharsha started cuting off her head with sharp weapon"
Both the 'undeterred murderers' had returned to the NA Cavalry from Balaju area after killing Menuka before 9 pm.
Investigative attributed the larger motive behind the murder to sour relation between the couple. Khatri told the police that he had made up his mind to kill his wife after she lodged complaint at the Cavalry claiming half of his salary and relations between them had turned sour since some few years.
"I took the extreme step to get rid of the tension," a police officer quoted Khatri as saying. In the past, Menuka had filed complaints with the police against her 'abusive husband', who would visit the family staying in Balaju only two to three times a month.
However, Bharat, in his bid to cover up his sour relations, found to have given his wife Rs. 25,000 to buy a television set three days before she was slain. Menuka was Bharat's first wife and his second wife lives in his native village -- Thumi, Gorkha.
