Chhetri Samaj, TKS bandhs cripple normal life

Normal life in the farwestern region has been affected owing to the bandh called by the Chhetri Samaj Nepal on Thursday.
Both long and short-route transportations have come to a standstill and the passengers have been stranded owing to the bandh, sources confirmed.
It is learnt that academic institutions have also been shut down due to the bandh. However, the market places in the region are operating smoothly.
The Chhetri Samaj called the bandh putting forth its 7-point charter of demands, which urges for a timely promulgation of the new constitution, state restructuring based on geographical proximity, availability of sources, natural resources, among others.
Meanwhile, normal life in the Tharuhat region has also been crippled owing to the bandh called by the Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha (TKS) today.
The TKS is reported to have called the two-day bandh in the region starting today urging the government to fulfill their 12-point demands.
