The Ex-parliamentarians’ Forum Nepal continued its relay hunger strike in front of the Constituent Assembly on Wednesday to create pressure on the CA members to speed up constitution-drafting process.
Dozens of former lawmakers from different political parties have joined the relay hunger strike organised by the Forum, which started on Sunday.
The former parliamentarians have demanded that the CA must publicise the works it has undertaken so far and declare a realistic timetable to prepare the statute at the earliest.
“Sovereign Nepali people will be compelled to take a tough move if the parties fail to do something to win their confidence early on,” said former lawmaker Nar Bahadur Hamal, who participated in the relay hunger strike.
The protest of the former parliamentarians will continue till May 28 when the CA's tenure expires.
