Nepali ambassador to India Rukma Shumsher Rana is likely to be recalled soon. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has deprived Rana of important duties lately, Nagarik daily reported.
Although there is a practice of changing ambassadors with formation of new government, newly appointed foreign minister Upendra Yadav had said, the ambassadors will not be changed immediately soon after his appointment.
Rana was not called to Nepal to welcome Indian foreign minister SM Krishna and Bhutanese Prime Minister during their visits to Nepal. The Nepali ambassador to India also looks after Bhutanese affairs.
Rana had become controversial few months ago as he also holds an important position in Dabur Nepal, a joint venture with Indian investment
